East Anglian Book Awards 2026

We're delighted that TWO Poppyland titles have been shortlisted in the History and Tradition category of the East Anglian Book Awards 2026!

The Archaeology of Norfolk's First World War Airfields by Gary Rossin uncovers Norfolk's forgotten aviation heritage.

The Dark Black Days of War: The Great War Diary of Honor Elwes, transcribed by Juliet Webster, brings a remarkable personal account of the First World War to new readers.

Gary said he was “absolutely delighted” by the recognition, while Juliet reflected on how pleased Honor herself would have been, having always dreamed of being a writer.

These latest shortlistings bring Poppyland's total to eight in the past five years! We're immensely proud of both titles and grateful to everyone whose research, dedication and hard work brings East Anglia's history to life.

Congratulations to Gary, Juliet and everyone involved!
