The Norfolk Long Distance Trail
The map above will help you put some of the places mentioned in either of the Norfolk Long Distance Path Trail books - Peddars Way and Coast Path - into context on the map. You can zoom in and out on the map, and use the hand which appears when your pointer is over the map to 'grab' the map and move it around. Click on the dots in the markers if you'd like just a quick comment on the location - and then you can look up more, and larger pictures, in the index of the book.
By using the buttons at the top right of the map, you can view the locations over a satellite image of Norfolk. Zoom in and you will see the current line of the Peddars Way emerge. The middle button will enable you to view a combined satellite and map image.
If you're planning to walk the trail, or just parts of the trail, we would strongly recommend you purchase as a minimum Ordnance Survey Landranger sheets 133, 134 and 144.
We naturally hope you've already bought or are about to buy our Peddars Way and Coast Path titles, with their anecdotes of two decades of walking these paths - and a splendid selection of new photographs. However, for serious walkers we would also recommend purchase of the official National Trail guide book, Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path from Aurum Press. Bruce Robinson wrote the first edition twenty years ago in 1986 for the opening of the Norfolk Long Distance Trail; it is currently out of print but Mike is now working on updating it for a new edition which is scheduled for spring 2007.
