Exploring the Norfolk Town Activity Pages

Activity 1: Norfolk Parishes Prior to 1850 To create some of the maps for Exploring the Norfolk Market Town it was necessary to draw the parishes as they were in earlier centuries. The parish of England have been changed at various stages and this page provides a map of the Norfolk parishes as they were in 1850.

Activity 2: On the Poppyland Publishing site we have a growing Encyclopaedia of East Anglian towns. It includes summary histories of a number of the towns in the book. Click on the town to follow the link. Attleborough, Aylsham , Diss, Downham Market, Fakenham, Harleston, Holt, North Walsham.

Activity 3: Harleston Tithe Map We are planning in the course of time to add a number of Tithe Map overlays to the resources and to link more data to those maps. The first, for Harleston, is available here.
