One of the most difficult questions! If you are looking for a publisher, it is important to identify one who publishes the type of material you have written! Poppyland Publishing publishes only researched local history on East Anglian topics; if that's what you've written, we'll be pleased to discuss it further with you. We usually ask submissions in the following format:
1) a contents page
2) a short synopsis of the book
3) a sample chapter (this does not need to be the first chapter and please chose one that is not too long).
4) a statement regarding the target market, noting we are a local history publisher (this again need be no more than 1 side of A4).
If you have written fiction, poetry or autobiography, we suggest you obtain a copy of The Writer's and Artist's Year Book and investigate publishers who match you with your material.
In the first instance please contact Bittern Books, our distributor. See our Trade information for more information.
